Automatic Document Feeders for scanning and copying

Automatic Document Feeders are now standard for Office multifunctional printers. This device allows for multiple pages to be stacked on the feeder and each page is automatically copied/scanned individually without the need to put documents on the scanning glass.

For our new office printers, there are 2 options if you want to scan and copy documents printed on both sides (duplex), an RADF (an Reversing Automatic Document Feeder) or a DSDF (Dual Scan Document Feeder) which can also be called a Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder (DADF).

RADF Vs. DSDF

When scanning or photocopying a 2 sided document An RADF (Reversing Automatic Document Feeder) scans one side of a page, then reverses it and scans the other side. A Dual Scan Document Feeder (DSDF) scans both sides of the document in a single pass making it twice as fast.

The videos below show two Toshiba devices scanning multiple, duplexed documents. The first has an RADF whereas the second is utilising a DSDF.

Dual Scan Document Feeder (DSDF)

A Dual Scan Document Feeder (DSDF) is an option with most of our A3 Office Printers, and in addition to the faster speed (processes 240 images per minute) it holds up to 300 original documents and offers Double Feed Detection so you can ensure that no pages are missing after scanning.

If your office does lots of scanning and copying then we recommend a DSDF due to the improved time saving and increased accuracy. We love to showcase what our equipment can do, whether its at our office or at a showroom near you. If you have any questions about adding a DSDF to your existing device or your are looking at a new office printer for your business then please get in touch with our friendly team.
