How to Print High-Quality Images from a PDF
When printing documents that contain images, the quality of the PDF file makes a big difference. A low-quality or compressed PDF can result in blurry photos, faded graphics, or pixelated images.
Your waste toner box might not get much attention, but it’s a key part of keeping your printer running smoothly. Every time you print, a little extra toner gets left behind, and the waste toner box collects it so it doesn’t cause messy buildup inside your printer.
If it gets too full and isn’t replaced, you might start seeing streaky or faded prints—or worse, your printer could stop working altogether.
Swapping it out is quick and easy, helping you avoid any printing headaches and keeping everything running as it should
A waste toner box (sometimes referred to as a waste toner bottle) is a compartment within a laser printer that collects excess toner powder left behind during the printing process. This prevents toner buildup on the drum unit, which could otherwise cause print quality issues. Like other consumable parts, the waste toner bottle needs to be replaced periodically when full.
Your printer will display a message on the screen when the waste toner box is nearing capacity. It is important to replace it promptly to prevent print quality issues or potential printer malfunctions.
This depends on my much printing you do and the type of printing. Full colour pages use more toner and will also mean waste toner will need replacing more frequently. We normally recommend replacing your waste toner every other time you replace your mono toner. If however you printer is alerting you more frequently than this, we recommend replacing as suggested.

No, it is not recommended to attempt emptying the waste toner box yourself. The process can be messy, and residual toner can be difficult to remove safely. Additionally, attempting to reuse the box may lead to toner leakage or printer damage. Always replace it with a new one when full.
Check your printer manufacturer’s guidelines for proper disposal. Many manufacturers offer recycling or take-back programs for used waste toner box’s. Alternatively, local recycling centres may have procedures for safe disposal.
If the waste toner box is full, excess toner has nowhere to go, which can lead to issues such as streaks, ghosting, or uneven toner distribution on printed documents. Replacing the bottle ensures your printer maintains optimal print quality.
No, waste toner box’s are designed for single use only. Attempting to reuse one could result in toner leakage, print defects, or damage to the printer’s internal components.
If the waste toner box is not replaced, toner buildup may cause print quality issues. Eventually, the printer may stop functioning altogether until the box is replaced.
While toner powder is not classified as toxic, it can irritate the skin and lungs if inhaled. When handling a waste toner box, avoid direct contact with the toner and dispose of the used box carefully. If toner spills, wipe it up with a dry, lint-free cloth rather than using water, as moisture can cause toner to clump and become harder to clean.
Each model is different, but here is an example using a Ricoh from their IM C series
